Book your no-cost Medicare consultation

20 to 30 minutes. No pressure, no obligation to enroll. Pick a time below.

What happens after you pick a time

After you select a time, you'll enter contact information so I know who I'm meeting with. Then you'll see a short form with two parts — a few questions to help me prepare for your situation, and the required federal Scope of Appointment. The whole thing takes about 4 minutes.

Who should be the contact person

The person seeking Medicare coverage should be the main contact, that's whose name, phone, and email go in the primary contact fields. Medicare decisions have to come from the beneficiary themselves whenever possible, and carriers expect to speak with the person being covered.

If you are an authorized representative helping someone with their Medicare, meaning you have legal authority to act on their behalf, such as power of attorney or court-appointed guardianship, there are separate fields on the form for your name, phone, and email. Fill those in addition to (not instead of) the beneficiary's information.

I do not ask for proof of authorized representative status upfront, but CMS and the insurance carrier may require documentation at the time of enrollment or at any point afterward. If they ask and the paperwork is not in place, it can delay or block enrollment, so please only check the authorized representative box if you actually have the legal authority.

If you are a spouse, adult child, or friend helping someone with their Medicare, but you do not have legal authority to act on their behalf, that is fine and common, the beneficiary still needs to be the main contact and present on our call. You are welcome to join the appointment with them.

What we can discuss during your Medicare consultation

  • Medicare Supplement Insurance — Medigap

  • Medicare Advantage Plans — Part C

  • Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans

  • Special Needs Plans — D-SNP, C-SNP, I-SNP

  • Medicare Savings Programs

  • Extra Help for prescription drug costs

  • Turning 65 enrollment guidance

  • Annual Election Period plan reviews

  • Special Enrollment Period eligibility

Medicare products and non-Medicare products are always discussed in separate appointments.

Here is what to expect

After you select a time, you'll enter your name, contact info, and county so I know who I'm meeting with. Then you'll see a short form with two parts: a few questions to help me prepare for your situation, and the required federal Scope of Appointment.

The whole thing takes about 4 minutes. Please complete it at least 48 hours before our appointment.

The Scope of Appointment is a federal Medicare requirement. Every licensed Medicare agent in the country must have one signed before an individual appointment. It documents what topics we'll cover and confirms you're not obligated to enroll in anything.

A few things people always ask before booking

Is this really no cost?

Yes. Independent Medicare brokers are paid by the insurance companies — not by you. Your premium is exactly the same whether you work with a broker or enroll on your own. No fee, no charge, no catch.

Will I be pressured to enroll in something?

No. If the right answer is to keep what you have, I will tell you that. If I do not have a better option for your situation, I will tell you that too.

Will my information be shared with other agents or companies?

Never without your explicit written permission. Your information stays with Texas Insurance for You. You will not receive calls from other companies because you booked here.

What is the Scope of Appointment form and why do I need it?

It is a federal Medicare requirement — not specific to me. Every licensed Medicare agent in the country must have a signed form on file before an individual appointment. It simply documents what topics we will cover and confirms you are not obligated to enroll in anything. You will receive it automatically after booking.

What if I think I have a Special Enrollment Period?

Medicare SEP rules are specific, have conditions that must be met, and can change from year to year. Do not assume you have one before we verify it together. Acting on an SEP you do not actually qualify for can affect your coverage in ways that are difficult to undo. Reach out and we will verify your situation before you make any moves.

I am not in San Antonio — can we still work together?

Absolutely. I am licensed throughout Texas and handle most consultations by phone or Google Meet. Location is never a barrier.

What Medicare clients are saying

Charles Valdez has been helping my family find health insurance for six years, and we have recommended him to our friends and family. He is very knowledgeable about finding the right insurance for us. He keeps us updated on anything he feels we need to know, is patient when listening to all our questions, and is always honest with the information he provides. I highly recommend giving him a call.
